What have they contributed?
Ever find yourself asking “What has the other parent really brought to the table?” The answer may be more than you give them credit for! It’s easy to lose perspective on contributions when the everyday can be distracting with conflict or discord. Sometimes it’s not just about giving credit for what you can see in the every day but also recognising and being thankful for what lies beneath the surface.
On a blank piece of paper first write down the attributes that first drew you to your co-parent.
Now write down three of his or her strengths.
Now think about how these attributes and strengths have benefitted your children. It might be that what drew you to them and their personal strengths really do make more of a difference than you think.
